With the participation of Cham Wings Airlines and representatives of tourism and travel offices in Syria and Pakistan, the Ministry of Tourism organized a joint workshop held recently at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel to activate tourism work with the Pakistani market as part of the tourism promotion plan to attract new and promising tourism markets to increase Pakistani tourist arrivals for natural, summer and therapeutic tourism.
The workshop was attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Eng. Nidal Mashfej, His Excellency the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus, Mr. Shahid Akhtar, the Head of the Federation of Tourism Chambers, Eng. Talal Khader, and the concerned managers from the Ministry of Tourism and the concerned gentlemen in Cham Wings Airlines.
The workshop included a presentation of promotional segments on the most important components of tourism in Syria and Pakistan, a presentation of the vision of the Ministry of Tourism, prospects for tourism development, various tourism components and the vision of the private sector.
Mr. Osama Sateh, Business Development and Public Relations Manager at Cham Wings Airlines, explained the importance of the workshop in terms of enhancing and documenting cooperation between Syrian and Pakistani tourism companies, indicating that Cham Wings Airlines constitutes the air bridge and the vital artery for such cooperation as a national line and carrier, as the company currently operates one flight per week to Karachi, Pakistan, which can be increased in the coming period, considering that Pakistan is a very large and spacious country and flights must be operated to large cities such as Lahore and Islamabad, the capital.
